‘All the Kings Horses’ mixed-media painting
Playschool’s Humpty Dumpy (homage to 1980s children’s tv) According to some historians, Humpty Dumpty was the name of a cannon used by the Royalists during the English Civil War. Humpty Dumpty was positioned on the walls of Colchester castle, Essex. Who knows if it’s true but it’s a good theory? I’m endlessly fascinated by childhood magical thinking and truth hidden in nursery rhymes/fairy tales.
