Aine is a painter, based in the UK. She has an experimental approach, using with a variety of media, including collage, ink, watercolour, spray paint, acrylic and textiles.
Her paintings feature intense saturated hues. The bold intense colour combinations create a sense of liveliness and humour in her work.
Her artwork is predominately figurative, fantastical and visionary. Combining recognisable elements in unexpected, incongruous ways.
She has a magpie eye collecting visual delights, oddities and wonders from historical sources, the animal kingdom, ecclesiastical art, mythology, decorative pattern, nature and landscape.
Some of her work is autobiographical exploring family heritage, identity and a sense of place. She is heavily influenced by her Irish heritage/DNA and by her county of residence, celebrating her status as a proud Essex girl.
She makes interesting and surprising connections examining universal themes; love, loss, legacy, mortality and belief.
She has BA Hons Fine Art Painting from Brighton University. After graduation she completed a PGCE to teach Art and Design. Aine trained in traditional upholstery techniques. In recent years she has begun to apply fine art concepts to textiles, chairs and domestic settings.
She has exhibited her work in the South East. With commissions travelling to far flung locations such as Australia and Sweden.
